by Richard Chang, Report on OC Film Fiesta, 2014:
People in Orange County love movies, and they love free stuff. So what could be better than a free film festival? The fifth annual O.C. Film Fiesta starts tonight and runs for three weekends, ending Oct. 5.
The Santa Ana-based festival kicks off at 7 with “Volando Bajo,” a new Mexican comedy directed by Beto Gomez, who also directed the 2011 adventure/comedy “Saving Private Perez.” “Volando Bajo” (“Fly Low”) follows the rise and fall of Chuyin Venegas and Cornelia Barraza, who formed the group Los Jilgueros de Rosarito and became the greatest stars of Mexican music and cinema in the 1980s and ’90s.
